The short version

  • No account, no name, no email, no contacts, no photos.
  • Your threads, favorites and drill set stay on your phone.
  • An anonymous install count and, only if you say yes, anonymous usage statistics.
  • No advertising and no tracking across apps or websites.

Who we are

What stays on your phone

Your selected thread, recent threads, favorites, drill set, settings and Pro status are stored only on your device. We never receive them.

Install and activity count

When the app opens, it sends a small anonymous message to our server so we can count installs and active users. It contains a random device identifier created for our apps (it is not your Apple or Google advertising ID and cannot identify you), the app version, the phone model and the platform. Our server derives an approximate location (country and city) from the connection while handling the request; the IP address itself is not stored. Development and test builds send nothing.

Anonymous usage statistics (only with your consent)

The app asks once whether you want to share anonymous usage. Only if you tap Share Anonymous Usage does it send which threads and tools are used, to Mixpanel, with a random identifier that is not linked to you or to the install identifier above. Location from the IP address is turned off. You can turn this off any time in Tools; doing so stops sending and resets the identifier. Before you answer, nothing is sent.

Purchases

Tap & Drill Pro is a one-time purchase handled by Apple or Google. We use RevenueCat to confirm purchases and restore them; it receives the purchase and the random device identifier. We never see your payment details. A record of the purchase (product, date and amount) is kept so we can support you and count revenue.

Who processes data for us

  • Vercel and Supabase host our server and the install count.
  • Mixpanel stores anonymous usage statistics, only with your consent.
  • RevenueCat, Apple and Google process purchases.

We do not sell data and we do not share it for advertising.

How long we keep it

Install and purchase records are kept while the app is offered and for as long as needed for accounting. Usage statistics are kept by Mixpanel for up to five years.

Your choices and rights

You can turn usage statistics off in the app at any time. Because we hold no name or email, we cannot link data to you by ourselves; if you want the install or purchase records for your device deleted, email us and we will help you find and remove them. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California), you have the right to access, correct or delete personal data and to complain to your data protection authority.

Children

Tap & Drill is a workshop reference and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, we update the date above and describe the change in the app's release notes.
